POSITION OVERVIEW 

TechSmith is looking for a Localization Coordinator to lead our localization journey from the ground up. In this role, you’ll serve as the internal subject matter expert, designing best-in-class workflows and managing a scalable vendor network to ensure our products speak the language of our users. We need a process-oriented leader who can balance the technical side of translation management with the interpersonal side of cross-functional advocacy across all departments. By fostering these internal partnerships and championing global best practices, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our international growth strategy and ensuring a seamless experience for our customers worldwide. 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Process Ownership 
  • Design and implement scalable, cost-efficient localization processes that align with the localization model of maturity and TechSmith’s business goals 
  • Partner with teams across the organization to provide expert guidance on localizing products, marketing, and new customer-facing systems 
  • Train internal teams in localization best practices to reduce churn and ensure localization efficiency 
  • Company-wide Coordination 
  • Coordinate across teams to manage priorities, due dates, and vendor capacity 
  • Act as a central hub for all departments to ensure assets are "localization-ready" and deadlines are met 
  • Keep stakeholders informed regarding project status, potential impediments, and risk mitigation strategies 
  • Vendor Relations 
  • Oversee day-to-day vendor relationships, acting as the primary point of contact to ensure project alignment and quality standards 
  • Proactively negotiate contracts and pricing models to ensure competitive rates and budget efficiency 
  • Localization Budget 
  • Manage all localization invoicing, budgeting, and vendor payments 
  • Provide teams with quarterly budget summaries and project-specific spend analysis 
  • Generate cost projections for new projects to ensure informed decision-making across the company 

REQUIRED SKILLS AND BACKGROUND 

  • A bachelor's degree in communication, business, project management, or a related field OR 
  • 2-3 years of experience in localization, project management, or a related area 
  • 6 months of localization management or multi-language project management 
  • Ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders and vendors 
  • Strong organizational and planning skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously 
  • Ability to manage all aspects of a project, including planning, work estimates, stakeholder communication, timelines, execution, etc. 
  • High attention to detail to ensure the accuracy, quality, and always on-time aspect of localized content 
  • Ability to design once-and-done localization processes that efficiently meet the needs of individual teams and departments 
  • Able to effectively manage and adhere to localization budgets 
  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with Engineering, Marketing, Customer Education, Sales, HR, and others as necessary 
  • Willing and able to work in a hybrid role, 20% of the time in office. (one day per week)

PREFERRED SKILLS AND BACKGROUND 

  • Proficient in one or more foreign languages 
  • Proficient in agile project management 
  • Experience supporting software development in an agile environment 
  • Experience with WordPress
